Merry Christmas Farmville, you are $180 Million Richer!

The developers of Farmville just got some splendid news from a Russian investment firm. The Digital Sky Technologies firm has agreed to invest $180,000,000 into the social gaming company. This news comes after Zynga announced that its social games are among the most popular on Facebook, with nearly one-third of the Facebook’s users playing their games monthly. According to Virtual Worlds News, Digital Sky Technologies will take a passive role in the company and will not hold a seat or have observer rights on Zynga’s board of directors.

One report claims that Zynga’s company value is now upward to 1.5 Billion dollars.

What does this mean for you? Well for starters this means that all the time you are spending inside games like Farmville and Petville will not be for nothing anytime soon. There is no indication that Zynga will shut down its popular services.

Since removing the sketchy advertising model of the past raising capital was the next best way to receive money for the company, so congrats are to Zynga!

My Petville Pet is a Butt Scratcher!

578329851[1] There are signs that you have been playing a game way to long when you start to pick up some of the hilarious animations that the developers added in the game. One Petville user posted this on the Official Petville Forums in the support section:

is this something that they do or do I need to do something to stop the itching?I bathe the pet and clean up the place and she still scratches

Have you encountered this animation with your pet? Is it a sign that there is something wrong with her pet or is it just something fun that they included in the game. If anyone has this animation recorded I would love to see it!

What is there to do on Petville?

20r8ug01[1] I came across an interesting discussion on the Official Petville Forums. One user, who shall remain anonymous asked what is Zynga’s evil plan behind their newest game. He wanted to know if he was missing anything to the evil plot. He surmised:

What else is there to do besides buy things for you pet or decorate the rooms, cleaning up snacks that the pet gets from somewhere and visiting people and popping bubbles. I guess more stuff will come along but my pet is already bored of visiting people.

One person was quick to defend Petville and said that he could give his pet an Extreme Petville Make-over. Another user suggested that he give his pet a backstory.

Ghosting in Petville, a Petville bug

14349_214739580745_502990745_4072420_830110_n1_thumb[1]It’s 2 months removed from Halloween and Petville, the newest game from Zynga has a bug that is very spooky. Ghosting happens occasionally in the game when 1 or 2 (or more?) pets that aren’t actually there begin to appear on the screen. They seem to be attached to your pet somehow and move where he/she does.

Zynga has been made aware of the bug and are working on a fix.

Conspiracy: What species are Petville Pets?

morgan21_thumb[1] Petville, the newest game from Zynga has a conspiracy on its hands. One keen player believes that the Petville Pets are really another animal in disguised. Here is what he had to say:

Are these pets just cats in the disguise? Want to know why I think this? Well, if you buy a bed and wait a while, your pet while either sleep on it or jump on it. Wait until it sleeps, and turn your volume up. The cat makes a sort of purr/meow noise, leading me to believe these pets are just cats in disguise.

So what is the verdict? Is he right? Are Petville Pets really cats in disguise?

Petville Tricks

One of the neat features about the new Petville game is giving your pet the ability to perform tricks. When you are thinking of tricks you might think of the normal tricks real pets do, like shaking hands with people, barking on command, sitting, standing, fetching.

But in Petville pets can do different types of tricks. For instance the pet pictured below can play the guitar:

Petville Users announces she is leaving the Game

4155309243_c81df2c324[1] Kit600ana is new to the forums and she’s already making a stand against Zynga’s latest game Petville. In her post from earlier this morning Kit writes:

I wanted to try something new and get in on it from the very start. not usually my style of game but i would have stilled played and lvled up a pet.

i have never played fishville and i linked to this new game off of farmville (which i play very often ), but i will not be using this again.

the pop ups to publish every little thing i did killed it. I understand you want to advertise the new game and maybe the overkill would be throttled back after awhile….. or maybe you knew the early people would hate it but you would still get so many more to replace the beginners by the ads…. i dont know and honestly dont care.

for me and many other people this game is not fun in any way with having to click away every little thing we do, if we dont want it auto-published. If i knew they were going to be every little thing we do i would have had it turned off to begin with. i had to go delete an entire list of recent activities saying i cleaned up after fluffy’s pet scooter. come on………

So im deleting this app. i really dont know if the powers that be every watch for these posts for feedback or not. for once i thought i would give legit feedback as to why im not using your product.

if these publishes were to ever happen to farmville, im telling you right now i would quit that instantly and so would many other people. FYI

Does this user have real beef with the game developers, or is it a good thing she is gone from Petville? Let us know!

Limited Energy in Petville?

A growing number of users are starting too revolt against game maker Zynga because the latest game in the lineup has one glaring difference. Users are not able to replenish their energy levels for 24 hours. One the official Petville discussion forum users are irritable. One user, a moderator says that if there was one thing she would change about the game  was not being able to have more energy given to you in a 24 hour period. Then she typed out an angry emoticon.

Another user suggested that you should be able to restore bits of your energy when your pet eats food.

adassa06 stated that three of her friends stopped play Petville because of this strange new rule. “I think that if they don’t change the way to win energy half of player will stop the game” she added.

What do you think of this? Should there be a better way to earn energy? Will you give up and boycott the game if Zynga doesn’t change this soon? Let us know!

How do you earn coins in petville?

4156070650_62f27a1cd1[1] The new and exciting game from Zynga is already starting to make puddles on the internet. (Sorry that was a pet owner joke). Petville, the game where you make a pet and groom it to be whatever you want it to be is quickly becoming very popular.

Like all the Zynga games there is some sort of currency involved. In the case of Petville it is coins. So how exactly do you earn more coins you ask? There are a few ways to do so:

Give your pet a good bath

Yes, this is actually the first tip. Don’t laugh. You don’t want a dirty pet. The first thing you’ll see is soap on the floor. Drag that to your pet. Then start moving it. This recreates the cleaning you would do in real life. After it’s complete it will give you a reward, usually of 10 love, and 10 coins. But, what if you didn’t get coins doing this? That’s ok! It’s completely random on which prize you receive. So wait a few minutes and start bathing your pooch again!

Go to your neighbors house and interact with their pet

Ah, the art of going to the neighbor’s is lost on this new generation. No one knows who their neighbors are, so it’d be sort of curious to them if suddenly you are playing with their dog. Not so in Petville, you know exactly who your neighbors are and they are ok with you coming over and helping out in duties.

What you need to do is click on your neighbor’s house, and a page will appear that says “Let’s Play. Click on the interactions and it will start doing an action. This is when you receive more love and more coins! Yay!

Clean your neighbors house

What!? You are not a maid! Well hear me out. How often have you gone to a neighbor’s house in real life only to be disappointed because they have a pizza box stack as a coffee table? In Petville you get to clean their houses and earn some coin. When you go to your friends house there will dirt on the ground and tables. Just click on these dust bunnies and they will automatically clean up. A message will popup saying how many more dirt piles are left. Click click click. Each time you clean a little dirt pile you will earn some coins, if you clean them all you will get an extremely rewarding bonus.

Clean your neighbors pet

Ah, are you starting to sense a theme here? Cleaning and maintaining your pet is the name of the game. The more you do this, the more coins you’ll earn. Now, imagine all the points you’ll earn if you clean all of your neighbor’s pets too! If you find soap on the ground when you visit a neighbors home you will be able to give their pet a good scrubbing and earn some serious coins when the cleaning is finished.

Finish your food!

All the pets that I’ve had in my life have never been told to finish their food, so I’m surprised this is actually a way to earn money in petville. What you need to do is fill your bowl up with food. You pet will then start eating some at first. Then a timer will come up, you must feed your pet for a bonus, which could be coins! Yay
